It’s 4 a.m., and Karen Dancer is already preparing for a busy day. Dancer has one of her many active home buyers flying in to view homes in El Dorado Hills, and she is already logged into the MLS looking for suitable listings for her client who is anxious to find a home.
“So far in 2018, home buyer interest has definitely intensified,” said Dancer, Realtor at RE/MAX Gold. “My buyers all expect that this is the year mortgage rates will finally rise. They also seem to have more confidence in their outlook on the economy. My biggest challenge is finding them homes as there isn’t much in the way of inventory on the market right now. Home buyers today want a home that they can move into and enjoy right away. They are generally passing on homes that have outdated features.
“With that said, I’ve been representing an increasing number of buyers in the purchase of brand new homes,” Dancer continued. “My buyers see the value of having an experienced realtor advocating on their behalf during the entire process. I’ve gained a lot of working knowledge of the products that builders are offering and feel like I can really help get my clients into just the right home at the right price. Many of our clients are looking to downsize and are attracted to the benefits of owning a new home that is energy efficient and low maintenance with the latest technology.”
Dancer joined the Barnes Real Estate Team in 2016, and as Sales Manager, she works with sellers as well as buyers. “When it comes to listing homes for sale, she is an incredible asset to our team,” said Jim Barnes, REALTOR with RE/MAX Gold and marketing manager for the Barnes Real Estate Team.

Dancer grew up in Granite Bay and now lives in the Bridlewood Canyon Community in El Dorado Hills. Her interest in real estate started early when she took her first real estate class at 18 years of age. Her background in residential development and management helped make her transition to the real estate industry a seamless one. She started her career as vice president of a real estate development company, overseeing their new home sales division, interior design center, and property management division and contributing to the land acquisition and product development teams. She has since worked extensively with sellers, buyers and investors.

Personal Interests
When she isn’t working Karen spends time with her family and their four rescue dogs. Together they enjoy the outdoors and the abundance of walking trails in El Dorado Hills and nearby Tahoe. She is actively involved in giving back to the community through a variety of charities, with 3 Strands Global, an El Dorado Hills based anti-human trafficking organization, being her primary focus.
